A long-haired, cream-colored cat was seen darting around near a busy road. He approached strangers outside a local post office, clearly lost and in need of help.

Concerned passersby reached out for assistance, and soon, Ruth, a local TNR rescuer, was alerted to the situation. "She received multiple phone calls, texts, and tags on social media about the friendly cat running up to people at the post office," Tails High (an animal rescue) shared.

Without hesitation, Ruth dropped everything and rushed to the scene.

"Ruth had a million things on her plate when she was asked to help this fluffy, lost kitty running dangerously close to a busy road," Tails High said. "But she knew she couldn't let him down."

As if he knew help had arrived, the cat calmly approached Ruth. Without a fuss, he stepped into the carrier, ready for a fresh start.

They named him Mr. Postman. He instantly settled into his foster home, curling up like he belonged there.

It felt like fate. Ruth had recently experienced some difficult losses, and Mr. Postman became a balm for her grieving heart. "Ruth dubbed him 'the whole package,' and we think he was a special delivery straight to her heart when she needed some extra snuggles after hard losses."

Hoping someone was looking for him, Ruth combed through social media for missing cat posts and eventually found a match. "We quickly realized that Mr. Postman wasn't missed, even though he was missing."

His former family had moved and decided not to keep him. They officially surrendered him to Tails High. Still, Mr. Postman didn't let it dim his spirit.

Mr. Postman claimed the big bed, followed his humans from room to room, and became their most loyal little shadow. "He's been such a joy in his foster home, wanting nothing more than your love—giving head boops, purrs, and curling up as close to you as possible."

With his large frame and big paws, he's a master of biscuit-making.

From day one, Little Roo's kittens kept their mom on her toes. They waddled around with curiosity, exploring every nook and cranny. With unbridled energy, they played and wrestled with anything they could get their paws on.

A kind neighbor spotted three kittens on their patio and reached out for help, hoping to get them to a safe place.

When Lori White, a volunteer with ARPO (the Alliance for Responsible Pet Ownership), arrived, she found an orange tabby all alone. Despite waiting until nightfall, there was still no sign of his siblings or mother.

Lori took him home since the area wasn't safe for such a tiny kitten, but she never stopped thinking about the rest of his feline family.

When the neighbor found the feral mother cat under a storage shed, likely where the rest of the kittens were, a volunteer headed over with a humane trap to rescue them. Meanwhile, the orange tabby, Colby, was happily adjusting to the comforts of indoor life.

"Colby has been a super snuggle bug, is very sweet, loves to cuddle, and purr. He likes to bury himself under the stuffie momma cat," Lori shared.

A few days later, they secured Colby's siblings, Brie and Jack, but their mission didn't end there. They continued their efforts to find the feral mom and dad, determined to put a stop to the cycle of endless litters.

Thanks to their dedication, they found the parent cats the following week and ensured they were spayed and neutered. "They have a feeder caring for them, which is wonderful."

When Heidi Shoemaker, the founder of Foster Kitten Mama, learned that the cat was in urgent need of help, she sprang into action. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of many volunteers, the cat arrived safely in her care after a few days of travel.

Heidi immediately got to work, treating the cat for fleas and stomach troubles, and thoroughly cleaning her ears, which were filled with gunk. With proper care and nourishing food, the expectant mother began to relax.

Heidi named her Keeva, meaning gentle, beautiful, and beloved, and settled her into a cozy room equipped with all the essentials.

Last month, a Good Samaritan who cares for community cats noticed two tiny kittens following each other around.

One walked a bit differently, with his front legs turned slightly inward. His sister trailed behind him, finding comfort in his presence. It was clear from the start that they shared an inseparable bond.

When Jamie, a foster volunteer with Baby Kitten Rescue, heard about the pair, she didn't hesitate to take them both in.

Even with his slightly bent legs, the black-and-white kitten, Hershey, walked around with ease and never let anything hold him back.

His sister, Lady, was timid and skittish, constantly backing away whenever she was approached. "Both Lady and Hershey are unsocialized. They aren't at all spicy, just shy, so I know it won't take long for us to become best friends," Jamie shared.

After a few days of adjusting to their indoor routine, they were treated to a well-deserved spa day to wash away the grime from the streets. Slowly but surely, they warmed up to the comforts of home, especially Hershey.

He quickly realized that pets and cuddles were a balm for his soul, and that he could always find an endless supply of them in Jamie's lap.

Lady, the more reserved of the two, needed gentle encouragement and extra time to help her build trust.

When she fell sick, she lost her appetite and needed supportive care to get her health back on track. "This is exactly why we quarantine for two weeks, because we usually see illnesses present themselves during this time."

With all the extra attention and TLC, she bounced back and returned to her playful self. Soon enough, she realized that human touch was nothing to fear, especially when her foster mom came with tasty meals and irresistible treats. Gradually, her walls began to tumble down.

With the help of a specialist, they found no abnormalities in the bone structure of Hershey's legs. "There seems to be a degree of rotation at the wrist joint, which is causing his wrists to bow outward."

To strengthen his legs, Jamie incorporates exercises into his daily routine. "He walks, plays, and uses the litter box. He will live a perfectly normal life; his legs will just be a little wonky."

"Lady has come a long way with her socialization. She's been lying next to me and even plays on and around me. Most of my socialization for the first week was just sitting with Hershey and Lady in the playpen and feeding them treats, which helps to build positive associations with humans."

Lady now trots over to greet her foster mom when she walks in, and she's even found her charming little purr.

Jamie invited her friends over to spend time with the kittens, giving them some extra affection.

"They need to have as many positive human interactions as possible. This will help them to be more confident and cuddly as they age. Some kittens take longer than others to trust, and that's okay."

Volunteers at Little Wanderers NYC quickly responded and set out to save the cat. Using a humane trap, they successfully secured the tabby and rushed him to the hospital.

They found a large, gnarly wound on his haunch, likely from getting snagged on something sharp. He needed a week of careful wound management at the hospital. Yet, through it all, he remained calm and sweet, as if he understood he was finally safe.

The cat named Amtrak (aka Amtrack) began to heal under the attentive care of a veterinary team. He responded well to treatment, which included daily bandage changes and medication. "To our delight, Amtrak turned out to be incredibly friendly," Little Wanderers NYC shared.

"Just a few days ago, he was clinging to life under the subway tracks. Now, he's showing us what a gem he really is."

While a woman fostered two tiny kittens, this cat offered to help in an unexpectedly adorable way.

When Molly learned that two orphaned kittens at the SPCA of Tompkins County needed a temporary fosterer, she didn't hesitate to take them in.

"I was excited to have bottle babies for the first time in a long time," Molly shared. A few hours after she brought them home, the shelter called about a mother cat who had arrived without kittens and whose past was unknown.

When Delilah, the young mom, was rescued, she was scrawny and still just a kitten herself.

Since Delilah was producing milk, the shelter asked Molly if she could introduce her to the kittens to see if she would accept them. "I drove back to the shelter and picked her up."

Though a bit confused by the new surroundings, Delilah was friendly and absolutely ravenous. She didn't pay attention to the kittens and instead made a beeline for the food, devouring an entire can in one go. Within two hours, she happily polished off two tube treats and two more cans.

The kittens slept soundly while Delilah busied herself filling her belly. When she finally noticed them, it was clear that nurturing kittens wasn't on her agenda. Molly gave her more time, hoping her motherly instincts would eventually kick in, but they never did.

"She shows no interest in mothering them, and that's okay."

While Molly bottle-fed the kittens around the clock, Delilah stayed close. She spent some time gazing out the window, but she never strayed far from her foster mom. In a manner Molly never anticipated, Delilah found her own way to be helpful.

"I decided to sleep in the foster room so as not to wake up my husband every time my alarm goes off to feed the kittens."

"Look who hopped right into bed with me." Delilah nestled into Molly's arms as if she'd been waiting for this all day.

Soon, she drifted off to sleep, feeling perfectly content. "I had to carefully extricate myself from the bed to feed the kittens while Delilah got some well-deserved sleep. Even when the kittens mewed, Delilah didn't open an eye."

"I bottle-fed the kittens, and whenever I wasn't busy with them, I gave Delilah all the attention she deserved. As soon as I crawled into bed, she flopped herself down in the crook of my neck and cuddled up to me. She slept beside me all night."

The next day, Delilah continued her cuddling streak, leaping straight into Molly's arms as soon as the kittens were fed.

Though she didn't take on the role of mothering the kittens, she supported her foster mom with cuddles and purrs. As Molly tried to rest for a couple of hours before the next feeding, Delilah curled up next to her, purring the sweetest lullaby.

"She would be a perfect work-from-home companion as she just wants to spend as much time with her humans as possible."

After everything Delilah had been through before entering foster care, she could finally focus on herself, growing stronger and healthier each day.

Though Delilah's time with Molly was brief, she filled those days with immeasurable joy, making those sleepless nights much easier. When the time came for her adoption, a loving family had been counting down the days to bring her home.

Within an hour, she was adopted from the shelter and on her way to her dream home. Meanwhile, the two kittens, Dante and Tristan, continued to flourish in foster care, growing by leaps and bounds.

Delilah didn't end up nursing the orphaned kittens, but she found the sweetest way to help by showering her foster mom with endless affection.

Last summer, a large tomcat with a missing eye was spotted roaming the neighborhood, but whenever neighbors tried to help, he would vanish without a trace.

They didn't see him all winter and feared he might not have survived. "When winter ended, he surprised everyone by showing up on a neighbor's patio, where a humane trap had been set up (to help the local strays)," Chatons Orphelins Montreal shared.

"All the stars were aligned for him that day."

Driven by hunger, the cat walked straight into the trap and devoured the food as the door shut behind him. After months of worry, the neighbors could finally breathe a sigh of relief, knowing he was safe. "This cat with enormous cheeks was named Magnus."

"Thanks to his rescuers, he was finally able to receive the care he desperately needed."

At eight years old, he underwent surgery to address his missing eye and began his healing journey in the comfort of a foster home. After spending most of his life braving the streets, it was no surprise that he tested positive for FIV. (FIV+ cats can live a long, healthy life with proper care.)

At first, he was timid and guarded, not yet ready to trust humans, but with patience and love, he started to change.

The foster family prepared a quiet, cozy nook where Magnus could relax and decompress. Once he settled in, they tried to pet him with a spatula. Even though he kept his head lowered and avoided eye contact, it was clear he didn't have a mean bone in his body.

"We could see the gentle side he kept hidden within."

"We started with positive reinforcement using treats."

Gradually, his walls began to crumble, and he let his foster mom pet him with her own hand, revealing his gentle, sweet nature. After years of putting on a tough front to survive the treacherous streets, Magnus could finally be himself.

In a matter of weeks, Magnus mustered his courage to explore the house, even trotting up to his foster mom for some affectionate scritches. Each day brought new progress, as he unveiled more of his endearing personality.

"He is very curious and observant, and he loves other cats. From the moment he arrived, we could tell he was eager to be their friend."

Though he still gets startled by sudden movements or loud noises, he's truly come out of his shell and drinks in every bit of affection he receives. "He loves it when we give his big cheeks and back a good scratch. He even arches his back toward us whenever he's in the mood for extra rubs."

"Magnus loves his food. His hearty appetite has helped him build trust with us." He quickly caught on to the mealtime routine and is always the first to show up.

He's enamored with other cats, filling the house with cheerful chirps as he races around with them. "He even tries to rub his head against them in a cuddly way. He wants to be everyone's friend."

"Magnus might give a strong first impression with his sturdy build and one missing eye. He resembles a raccoon when he moves around, but spend just a few minutes with him and you'll see he's a total teddy bear at heart."

These days, he likes to perch by the window, keeping his keen eye on the neighbors and critters outside, all while enjoying the comfort of his foster home.

A Good Samaritan heard meows coming from a car and discovered a tiny kitten hiding on a tire under the wheel well.

The kitten was scared but stayed still, letting the finder gently lift her from her hiding spot. Exhausted and covered in grease, she was finally safe and brought to AnimalLuvr's Dream Rescue.

Nadija, a long-time volunteer with the rescue, took her in and gave her a place to land after a lifetime on the run.

The kitten, Coco, didn't put up a fight, even during her bath. After getting all cleaned up, she polished off her food and curled up for a long, well-earned nap, catching up on lost sleep.

She woke up refreshed, her purr engine rumbling softly as she leaned in to her foster mom for affection.

"She's the sweetest little girl that comes when called or the second she sees me, loves snuggles and to be held, and has a purr loud enough to hear across the room. She's also incredibly soft, so cute, and a bit sassy. The total package," Nadija shared.

Thrilled to be indoors, Coco still longed for a buddy—someone to chase, tumble with, and curl up beside after playtime.

About two weeks before Coco entered foster care, an orange-and-white kitten with a severely injured leg was brought to the county shelter, desperate for a lifeline. Even with her hands full, Nadija didn't think twice about stepping in to help.

After a much-needed bath, Peach (the kitten) perked up in all the best ways: eating heartily, purring nonstop, kneading her blankets, and even using the litter box.

When it became clear her leg couldn't be saved, she underwent surgery and bounced back with remarkable resilience. Now three-legged and infection-free, she's found her rhythm, moving with confidence. "She's so incredibly sweet despite everything she's been through."

"Since she was so tiny (only a little over a pound), a cone wasn't an option for her, so I made her a cute sock sweater."

With excellent care and plenty of TLC, she healed steadily and grew stronger each day.

Peach was soon hopping around on three paws, navigating her world without missing a beat. She surprised everyone with how quickly she took to play again, even attempting to climb the cat tree like nothing had changed.

As Peach grew in size and spirit, so did her longing for a constant companion. Meanwhile, Coco was adjusting beautifully to foster life, quietly hoping for a friend to share her days. When the two finally met, it was as if they'd known each other all their lives.

Coco's playful, outgoing energy is the perfect balance to Peach's sweet and cuddly nature, like puzzle pieces that just click into place.

A woman went to the shelter to look at kittens in need, but she ended up bringing home a young cat that stole the show.

Lori White, a volunteer with ARPO (The Alliance for Responsible Pet Ownership), thought she was just making a routine visit to her local shelter, but she ended up bringing home a kitten who instantly turned up the energy level in her home.

"I went to look at the kittens in need for other fosters, and this little girl (Lavender) was marked as 'immediate' due to lack of space. Single kittens are hard on shelters because they have one small kitten taking up an entire cage," Lori shared.

"I reached my hand in her cage to pet her, and she immediately started purring."

Lori hadn't planned to take in more foster kittens, but when she learned about Lavender's situation, she stepped up to help. "She's about seven weeks old and weighs a little over two pounds."

Before Lavender was ready to mingle with other cats, Lori set up a cozy corner for her in the office, and Lavender quickly appointed herself as the four-legged assistant.

"Lavender probably has the bluest eyes of any kitten I have seen. She is having a great time being my office assistant, hanging out in her bed, and playing in my office during her quarantine time. She purrs at all times and is quite the hopper."

Before long, she leaped into Lori's lap and gazed up at her, making sure all the attention was on her.

She wrapped her paws around her foster mom's arm, her idea of "helping." Though Lori didn't get much work done, the boisterous little troublemaker brightened her day with constant entertainment.

She'd inspect every item on the desk with boundless energy, as if she had batteries that never ran out of juice.

Once she left the shelter, she quickly came into her own, zooming around her spacious room, tackling every toy in her path, and scaling cat posts like an acrobat. She turned up the energy in the house to eleven with her endless antics.

When she finally had free rein of the house, she was determined to be at the heart of every action.

While Lori and her family were busy working on their puzzle, Lavender decided to lend a paw by diving into the pile of pieces. She then casually strolled across the table, channeling her inner Godzilla, as she mischievously nudged a few pieces out of place.

Lavender might not have been the most conventional helper, but she always managed to bring a smile to everyone's face.

"Lavender also has a very sweet and snuggly side and is not afraid of large dogs."

When she met one of the resident dogs, she greeted him with gentle nose taps and even attempted a playful wrestle. While she was wreaking havoc in the kitchen, the gentle giant stayed nearby, enjoying her chaotic presence.

When a family came to visit her, she turned on the charm, determined to win them over. They fell head over heels for the little bundle of energy, especially their boy. "He has his room all set up for her, a beautiful sunroom full of cat trees and window perches."

After nearly a month in foster care, Lavender's dream came true.

Now, she has a big family, with two feline siblings to show her the ropes and help keep her in line. "Her name is officially Kellyn Lavender. Despite all of her craziness, she is very sweet and always brings a laugh."

Thomas, an independent animal rescuer, went out to trap a pregnant stray, but ended up with a charming orange cat instead.

To his surprise, the orange tabby was incredibly friendly, thrilled to be found. "From the second Thomas opened the (humane) trap, Sunny (the cat) was purring, head-butting, and making biscuits like he owned the place," Little Wanderers NYC shared.

It was clear that Sunny was never meant for the streets, as he immediately made himself at home.

At about two years old, Sunny was a bundle of love, always gravitating toward affection like a sunflower turns to the sun.

Soon after he was brought inside, he confidently hopped onto his rescuer's lap, claiming it as his new perch. The instant lap cat filled the air with his rumbling purrs, his paws kneading away contentedly.

Sunny curled up with his human, leaning in for extra snuggles. He reveled in gentle face scratches, tilting his head back to soak up every bit of affection. After his time on the streets, he was clearly making up for lost time.

With limited resources, Thomas turned to the team at Little Wanderers NYC, who were quick to lend a helping hand.

"You wouldn't know he's been through a very hard street life at his young age, but his body carries battle scars and wear from surviving as best he could. He's super friendly and clearly meant to be rescued."

Given his sweet and affectionate nature, the rescue believed Sunny had once known the comforts of a home before he was abandoned.

After he was fully vetted, he still needed extra care for his stomach troubles. Michelle, a dedicated foster volunteer with Little Wanderers NYC, opened her home to the lovable boy and cared for him as he continued on his path to full recovery.

With a roof over his head and an abundance of love, Sunny transformed into the ultimate velcro cat. He followed his foster mom everywhere and would curl up in her hoodie to be toted around like a cherished baby.

Sunny's new dad is an educator who works with unaccompanied children, many of whom have faced significant challenges.

Artie, the cat, was left behind when his family moved away. For a while, he wandered the streets, learning to fend for himself and dreaming of the day he'd have a home again.

Thanks to a TNR program, he was finally rescued. His irresistibly sweet and affectionate nature proved he was never meant for street life. Clifton Animal Shelter welcomed him with open arms, determined to find him the perfect forever home.

"He is a special cat with a heart full of love to give," Clifton Animal Shelter shared.

At around 2-3 years old, Artie had a reputation for being the snuggliest cat in town. He thrived on attention, always ready to smother his people with kisses.

He was so human-focused that he longed for a quiet home, where he could be the star of the show and never have to share this humans with other animals.

While the rescue waited for a foster home to become available, the finders turned their garage into a temporary sanctuary, ensuring the mother and her kittens were secure, comfortable, and well-cared for.

As soon as a space opened up, the rescue warmly welcomed the entire family into their care.

"Mama was not very happy with the ride to her foster house, but the minutes she got out of the carrier and saw her babies in a nice comfy bed with a big bowl of food and water, she was full of love for her foster mom," Mary Huckabee, CBCR officer, shared with Love Meow.

Under the mom's watch, the kittens grew healthy and plump, a testament to her constant care and love.

Desert Sands soon discovered how wonderful gentle scritches could be, rewarding every stroke with her delightful gravelly meows.

Now settled indoors, she truly blossomed, no longer burdened by worries of finding food and shelter. "She loves pets and wants to be the center of attention all the time. She would rather get pets than eat, even if it's good food."

As soon as the kittens opened their eyes, they wriggled around their nest, eager to explore, even though they hadn't quite found their footing. They often ended up rolling onto their backs, flailing their tiny legs in the air like roly-polies.

When Coach Lou met the resident dog, Ice Cream Sundae, he graciously allowed her to greet him with curious sniffs. He was perfectly content to have a canine companion admiring and following him around.

"He and our dog are basically the dream team—double the cuteness, double the charm," the foster shared on Instagram.

Coach Lou has claimed his favorite vantage point atop the refrigerator, overseeing the household like a boss. He also enjoys gazing out the window, keeping an eye on the neighborhood and making sure the squirrels stay in line.

A Good Samaritan noticed a kitten darting across the road and decided to stop and investigate.

As she searched for the stray, she heard cries coming from a nearby storm drain and realized a kitten was trapped below. She contacted her local rescue, Liberation Cat House, for help. "It happened to be just five minutes from my house, so of course, I jumped in my car and drove straight over," Alyssa, a volunteer with the rescue, shared with Love Meow.

"It didn't take long to locate what drain he was in, as he was screaming at the top of his lungs."

Alyssa tried using a few makeshift contraptions to rescue the kitten, but nothing worked. Thankfully, reinforcement soon arrived. "Several rescue directors and friends joined the rescue efforts. With their help, we were able to remove the grate that was covering the drain and crawl down inside."

With a severe thunderstorm looming, they knew they were in a race against time to get the kitten to safety.

When neither food nor recordings of meowing cats could lure the kitten out, David volunteered to crawl into the narrow 16-inch pipe to rescue the kitten. "There wasn't enough room to shimmy back out. His only option was to crawl through the entirety of the pipe—which spanned underground across four lanes of traffic and a large median."

As the minutes ticked by, they anxiously waited for David to traverse the storm drain while Stacey stood at the other end, ready to catch the kitten.

"As soon as the kitten was close enough, she scooped him up and placed him safely in a carrier," Ashley, a director of Liberation Cat House, told Love Meow.

David emerged on the other side, covered in spiderwebs and spiders, but felt a wave of relief now that the kitten was safe. Shortly after they left the scene, the storm unleashed torrential rain and hail.

As much as Mango enjoys his athletic antics—like leaping from chair to chair—he adores snuggling with his people even more. He's happiest when he's warming their laps and keeping them company, especially when they need a little extra dose of feline comfort.

Mango is a champion biscuit-maker, and before settling into a cozy corner of the couch, he likes to warm up by kneading a blanket or a shirt. Once he's satisfied, he leans back like a distinguished gentleman, ready for some TV.

"He enjoys watching TV, especially the Great British Bake Off, as he is quite the biscuit-maker himself."

When he gets the zoomies, he can launch himself across impressive distances with flawless landings and impeccable balance. He's both strong and agile, effortlessly catching any moving toy that crosses his path. "He is a natural-born hunter and a renowned athlete."

As he unwinds with his people, he loves to stay connected by gently resting a paw on their leg or foot.

Mango is thrilled to have a roof over his head, plenty of good food, and a caring foster family that adores his on-demand snuggles.

He loves to curl up on their lap, doting on them with his full body weight, all while kneading and purring happily.

Karen says: I found Misty Gray at a petting zoo at the local county fair. A woman there had 15 or 20 kittens in a bunch of kennels and was selling them for $25 each. I watched as the kittens were being mauled by hundreds of kids. I first saw them on Thursday and I couldn't get them out of my mind. I went back on Saturday and offered her $5 each for the two sickest kittens. Misty had an eye infection and a really bad upper-respiratory infection. We spent a couple of weeks nursing her back to health -- with the help of a vet -- before she was adopted to a good home with a nice family.

Jill says: We brought Flipper home to join Isabella's litter of four in foster care when we took Isabella back to the Fredericton SPCA. Flipper was found by herself just outside the city. She has the cutest feet ever... two extra toes on each front foot and one extra on each back foot! Right away she got along really well with the Isabella's kittens. Within half an hour they were cuddled up together. No hissing or anything! Flipper was very independent and could entertain herself with any toy. She was one of the weirdest kittens we've fostered... I mean that in a good way! She will definitely always stand out. Her favourite thing to do was march on the blanket on the back of our couch and try to suckle it. She actually taught the other kittens how to do it! I don't know if they they were comforted by it because it was soft and fleecy (possibly like their mom?) but they sure left it nice and slobbery for me when I sat down. We returned Flipper to the SPCA last week, when she had just a few more ounces to put on before she could go up for adoption. We hope by the time you're reading this Flipper will be in her new home.

UPDATE: Flipper got adopted June 20 after being at the shelter for a month! Thanks to Brittany, who saw Flipper on the Good Morning Kitten and went to get her and bring her home!

Isabella's Kittens: Zorro [7] - September 09, 2024

Jill says: Zorro was a great little boy. He liked to cuddle up on my shoulder when I was sitting on the couch. Zorro had a rough time when we were fostering him. He had pneumonia and pink eye. All the kittens were sick but unfortunately Zorro got hit the worst. I got up in the middle of the night one night to check on them and Zorro was wheezing so badly that I didn't think he'd make it through the night. I sat with him and cuddled him for a few minutes and tried to make him as comfortable as I could. Thankfully he pulled through (after three vet visits, twice daily antibiotics and eyedrops, and a steroid injection!) and I'm sure he is very happy in his new home.

Jill says: Ricardo was the biggest of Isabella's four kittens and sooo handsome. We named him after Richard Alpert (for all you fans of LOST) because of his cute little eyeliner! Ricardo needed a lot of socialization. He hated being picked up at first and was very scared, but after working with him for a few weeks we eventually got him to be a bit more cuddly! Like his siblings, Ricardo found a forever home shortly after we returned him to the shelter.

Jill says: Lemoni was a sweet little princess. She had the softest fur I've ever touched.... like a little cotton ball! I loved the little smudge on her head. She had a great personality and was very cuddly. Like Rambo, Lemoni was adopted to a loving home -- in this case with a woman who had recently lost her cat. She was actually the first of Isabella's kittens to be adopted.

Jill says: Isabella (aka Miss Noodle on the Fredericton SPCA Web site) came to us with her four kittens in early April. They came from the Saint John Animal Rescue League, which is a kill shelter and was very overcrowded. The Fredericton SPCA drove down and picked up several cats and litters of kittens to bring them to our shelter. I then picked up Isabella and her kittens and brought them home for some tender loving foster care.

Rambo may look cute but he lived up to his name! He loved to jump on top of and wrestle his brothers and sisters. He would even try to take on our adult cats.... that didn't go over to well with them! He had tons of energy and after you tired him out he'd cuddle right up with you. When we returned him to the shelter he was adopted right away and is now in his forever home.

Isabella was very skinny and probably only a year old. She was a great mom to her kittens considering it was probably her first litter. She was also very playful herself and loved to chase toy mice when she wasn't busy with her little ones. Unfortunately, when her kittens got sick with pneumonia she rejected them and she also started getting a bit aggressive with our own adult cats, so we took her back to the SPCA where she is currently waiting for someone to give her a forever home.

UPDATE from the Kitten Krew: Jill wrote this blurb several days ago when Isabella was waiting to be adopted. Isabella's photo disappeared from the SPCA Web site today so we HOPE that means she found a forever home. We're waiting for Jill to check in with us and let us know if there's good news...

UPDATE II: Isabella did indeed get adopted!

David says: Oscar is the youngest of our three cats and is now almost a year old. Heâs a cross tabby/Bengal and is VERY energetic. He gets his nose into everything and seems afraid of nothing -- loves to lie in ambush for the other cats, who are getting a bit fed up with it! Mind you, heâs not too sure about the rabbit. He prowls the back gardens here in Portsmouth, UK, strutting with his tail always up and slightly bow-legged. Heâs a real character and we love him to bits (not so much when heâs miaowing for food at dawn though). He eats everything he can, is very interested in the kitchen garbage bin and we have to remember to put the lavatory lid down at night.

Stephanie says: Meet Dior, an abandoned kitten that my teenage daughter Amanda rescued. I have always been dog person myself. My daughters hid this kitty for four days before letting me know it was in my house. :-) She's so cute, how could I say no?! It took a while for our dog Jack Jack and Dior to get used to each other, but once they did they began to play together often. She's a big girl now and a diva. She doesn't like to cuddle or curl up on my lap. She's independent and moody. I even took to calling her Miss Hissy for a while when we got a new puppy and she wouldn't stop hissing at him. But she's still the cutest kitty I've ever seen!

skuds says: Diego came to us when he was about six weeks old. He had been part of a litter from a local farm cat. When we saw all six in a basket we wanted them all but somehow knew that one would be enough of a handful!

We wanted a kitten to keep our six-month-old Chiquita company. The day Diego arrived she was promoted from kitten to cat and she greeted him with some hissing but within a week they were curled up in the basket together. Having seen his mother and half brother, we know Diego is going to be a big cat, but for now he is the baby of the family.
